Recently, Nataliya Kabatsiy, Lesya Levko and Nadiya Danch, members of the Medical Aid in Committee Zakarpattia, paid a working visit to the Vilshany orphanage in the Khust rayon.

Despite the quarantine restrictions imposed in the country due to the coronavirus pandemic, the work process in the institution did not stop, it continues in accordance with the established regime and approved programs. Clients continue to attend classes in workshops, at school. According to the schedule developed, anyone who wishes, may learn the techniques of felting wool, creating a decor of wax, working with looms, creating textiles from the fabric made, learn woodworking and pottery.

The acquired skills and tangible progress in the improvement of hand-made products motivated the development of the idea of creating a store on the territory of the institution and the arrangement of a cafe. The idea is to implement a new form of socialization, the formation of a sense of belonging to joint work, creative and labour self-realization, and communication with the local population. It is also planned to popularize the results of the work of the orphanage's clients in social networks and at various awareness-raising and educational events.

During the conversation with the management and staff of the Vilshany orphanage, emphasis was placed on continuing the practice of keeping work diaries, records, recording the services provided there to children. The format of attracting weaker pupils to work in the workshops will be jointly optimized - the workshop workers already have relevant ideas.

Despite the external factors, CAMZ planned a number of master classes and trainings with the involvement of foreign specialists to improve the professional training of the orphanage's staff. The intentions to repair auxiliary means, in particular, wheelchairs, were also agreed upon. According to the concept of 2017, schooling will continue.

In cooperation with the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattia and Uzhhorod National University, a draft concept is being developed for internships by students of the Faculty of Health and Physical Education, majoring in "Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy", "Special Pedagogy in Social Institutions". As a pilot project, the first experience is planned to be gained on the basis of the Vilshany orphanage in autumn 2021.
