As part of the medical component of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support", the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya donated specialized equipment to the clinical and biochemical laboratory of the Borivska Central Hospital of the Borova Village Council, Izyum district, Kharkiv Oblast.

At the request of the medical facility, a semi-automatic biochemical analyzer and reagents for it were purchased, as well as a binocular laboratory microscope. The equipment is already being used as a key tool for the quantitative determination of various parameters in biological fluids, and thus for assessing the functional status of internal organs—the liver, kidneys, and heart—as well as for detecting metabolic disorders.

The Borivska Central Hospital provides medical care to residents of the Borova territorial community, treating approximately 100 outpatients and 10–15 inpatients daily. The facility also provides medical care in emergency and urgent cases. The hospital’s service area is currently located in the frontline zone, which significantly increases the burden on the healthcare sector. Due to ongoing hostilities, damage to medical equipment and energy infrastructure, and logistical challenges, the medical institution has an urgent need to update its material and technical resources. Therefore, the assistance received will help ensure uninterrupted operations and improve the quality of medical services provided to patients.

The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
