We continue to implement the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support". As part of the project’s medical component, the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya has once again donated a shipment of medicines and medical supplies to a healthcare facility in the Kharkiv region.
This time, the aid was sent to the Valky Central District Hospital, which serves the population of several amalgamated territorial communities. The hospital reports that since the beginning of the full-scale russian-Ukrainian war, the population within its service area has increased 2.5-fold. This has led to a critical overload of the medical infrastructure and the depletion of the hospital’s available internal resources. In particular, the sharp increase in the number of patients has caused a proportional increase in the need for essential medicines, bandages, and specific medications for treating chronic diseases—needs the hospital was not prepared to meet during peacetime.
In response to a prior request, medications, saline solution, syringes, and other supplies were sent to the Kharkiv region to support the hospital and its patients.
As a reminder, since the beginning of 2026, CAMZ has donated specialized medical shipments to healthcare facilities in the Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zakarpattia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions as part of the project.
The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
