Thanks to the support of the French Association SAFE and donors who joined in fundraising to help Ukraine, the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" donated another operational vehicle to the military firefighters.

This is a compact, all-wheel-drive fire truck that has already been sent to Donetsk Oblast, where it will assist in emergency rescue operations both in frontline settlements and directly on the front line.

Specialists from the unit that received the vehicle emphasize that fire trucks remain critically important for saving lives and infrastructure in the combat zone. Daily shelling causes massive fires, destruction of buildings, and explosive situations, so military firefighting units work at the epicenter of emergencies. Special vehicle equipped with firefighting equipment will be used to extinguish fires caused by strikes on residential buildings, warehouses, vehicles, and critical infrastructure. The military will also be able to quickly rescue people from under the rubble, cool dangerous objects, and prevent the detonation of ammunition. These and other cases are the responsibility of the unit, which the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya has been supporting since last year.

The choice of this particular vehicle was no accident, as it will have to perform tasks both in dense urban areas and in difficult terrain, where it is important to have a maneuverable, compact vehicle. Our friend Jacques Duplessy found just such a vehicle in France. French historian and reserve officer Stéphane Audrand helped with the crowdfunding campaign. Since 2022, he has been working with the Association SAFE, in particular to raise funds for the purchase of transport, generators, field hospitals, etc. During this period of cooperation, the team of like-minded people has raised almost €400,000 for Ukraine's needs in the context of the war.

We thank our partners from France for their support, which today amounts to dozens of vehicles, hundreds of humanitarian cargoes, and thousands of devices for generating energy, light, and heat. This is invaluable assistance for civilians, military personnel, emergency service specialists, and all of Ukraine's social and critical infrastructure.
As a reminder, a year ago, the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya donated the first special vehicle to the military fire service. According to the unit, the vehicle is still in service, helping to overcome the consequences of numerous enemy attacks.
