Experience is unlimited ... the CAMZ team continues visiting various social institutions in order to improve this system in Ukraine.
The first such institution was a special pedagogical school in Biel (Switzerland) http://www.hptepc.ch/schule/) under the supervision of the Director Anton Wagner. The children with various forms of developmental disorders study at the school as well as those who need additional support in their studies. The school is bilingual: all documents of the institution are conducted both in French and German. In addition to learning at school, a lot of attention is paid to manual labor. There are different workshops here, namely:
Textile workshop
The work on the loom develops motor skills and improves coordination. Different qualities and properties of the materials, whether colors or shapes, encourage students to perceive and recognize analogies either visual or tactile differences. The work often repeats and is durable: it requires patience and persistence.
Wooden workshop
The students work with different types of wood, use a variety of tools for this purpose. They have ability to perform many experiments, develop their imagination and practice skills.
Potter's craft
The work in the pottery workshop fosters a sense of touch. Through the modeling and use of various techniques, the child has access to three-dimensional forms, realizing their imagination and creativity.
During the training, in addition to the workshops, children can also enjoy the therapies like eurhythmy, speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, music therapy.
For each child, the number and type of therapy is determined in cooperation with teachers, therapists, doctors and parents. The main goal of each therapy is to help the child acquire as much autonomy as possible in the emotional, social and practical spheres.
