Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya, as part of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support", has donated more than 280 food kits to families with children from among internally displaced persons and other vulnerable groups currently living in Zakarpattia Oblast.
Part of the aid was donated to the NGO "Center for Joint Development "Dieva Hromada" (Svalyava) and the Luhansk Regional Humanitarian Hub (Uzhhorod), which take care of IDPs from Luhansk region. Some of the aid was personally delivered by the members of CAMZ to the places of temporary residence of IDPs, including families recently evacuated to the region from Donetsk region. All beneficiaries are families with children from vulnerable groups, mostly IDPs from frontline and temporarily occupied settlements.
The humanitarian mission of the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya continues with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
For reference: according to the Transcarpathian Regional Military Administration, about 300,000 IDPs live in Zakarpattia, and according to mobile operators’ monitoring, more than 500,000 people in this category live in the region.
