As part of the implementation of the medical component of the project "Improving the protection of children in emergency situations in Ukraine by providing safe shelters, providing food and non-food products, as well as psychosocial support", the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya donated medicines and supplies to the Kryvyi Rih District Primary Health Care Center of the Novopillya Village Council.
The facility includes four outpatient clinics of general practice - family medicine and eight health centers that serve almost 18,000 local residents and internally displaced persons currently living in the community. The primary health care center serves 2,423 children, including 56 IDP children and 42 children with disabilities. These institutions are located in rural areas, where, unfortunately, there is no stable transportation, so people can receive medical care only in peripheral institutions.
To improve the quality of primary care, the institution needed medicines, which have already been delivered as a humanitarian aid.
Thanks to the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office, medical institutions in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, Zakarpattia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kherson, Kyiv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions have already received the aid. The work is ongoing.
