As part of the medical component of the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support", the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya donated specialized equipment to the Zaporizhzhia Regional Clinical Hospital.

It is a new sensor for the ultrasound machine that replaced the broken element. Due to the breakdown, the hospital could not provide a number of important medical services. Now, the updated equipment allows for high-quality examination of blood vessels, pleural cavity, and is used in thoracic surgery, etc.

Since the beginning of the full-scale russian-Ukrainian war, the workload of doctors and support staff at Zaporizhzhia Regional Clinical Hospital has increased significantly. Having proper equipment at hand is often a matter of life and death. Thanks to the help made possible by the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office, lives are being saved.
