The "Hybrid Solutions" project, which is being implemented by the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" in partnership with the organization "Electriciens sans frontières" (Electricians Without Borders) and with funding from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is underway. The project provides for the installation of hybrid alternative power supply systems in medical, social and educational institutions.
During the pilot phase of the project, the relevant equipment was installed in the buildings of four educational institutions in Rivne Oblast, including two special schools. Now, specialists will modernize healthcare facilities in Rivne, Lviv, and Zakarpattia regions. Thus, in the summer in Zakarpattia, rooftop solar stations with electricity storage systems for backup power will be installed at hospitals in Perechyn, Mizhhirya, Dubove, the Regional Children’s Hospital in Mukachevo, the Regional Emergency Medical Center, the Regional Psychiatric Hospital in Berehove, the Transcarpathian Regional Children’s Sanatorium "Malyatko", the Center for Medical Rehabilitation and Palliative Care for Children "Virgin Mary" in Svalyava, and the Social Abilitation and Rehabilitation Center "Parasolka" in Tyachiv.
"We have been cooperating with "Electriciens sans frontières" for over a year and a half. And all our joint efforts have been aimed at supporting critical infrastructure, social, medical and educational institutions in the face of devastating hostile attacks on the country’s energy sector. We are aware that the power outage in some cases means stopping important processes, and in others, it threatens people’s lives and health. Our partners have repeatedly handed over large batches of heaters, generators, lanterns and spotlights that are still in use in many regions of the country", said Nataliya Kabatsiy, Director of the CO "CF "CAMZ".
The "Hybrid Solutions" project is also a continuation of the Committee’s cooperation with the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. In 2022-2023, our organization already had experience in implementing the project "Emergency Aid to Zaporizhzhia Oblast", under which employees of the State Emergency Service in Zaporizhzhia Oblast received the equipment necessary to perform their duties. Back then, the humanitarian aid from the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya, purchased with the financial support of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and in partnership with the Association SAFE, included emergency rescue equipment and components.
As a reminder, since the first days of the full-scale russian invasion, the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya" has been emphasizing support for the country’s energy independence and the search for alternative sources of electricity among its priorities. Over the 2.5 years of the great war, the organization and its partners have provided nearly 1,500 generators and various charging stations and more than 10,000 heaters to civilians, the military and specialists in socially important sectors. And this work continues.
