On May 23, in Uzhhorod, as part of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program "HowareU?", a panel discussion "Reflection. Values and Stories of Resilience", which was attended, in particular, by Nataliya Kabatsiy, Director of the Charitable Organization "Charity Fund "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya".
Iryna Sovyak, moderator of the first panel "Reflections on Resilience", raised the issue of resilience components that significantly affect our productivity in extreme conditions.
"Surprisingly enough, given my innate workaholism, the source of my resilience is work. And an important component of the work itself is our team – a well-coordinated team of like-minded people whose effectiveness has been proven over 25 years of cooperation. All this together makes it possible to replenish strength and energy from the results of our activities – we see them, feel them, and know how they affect the target groups. Yes, the war has significantly expanded their scope. And even though the work has grown, the effectiveness has also increased. This means that everything is not in vain, and we are steadily moving forward", said Nataliya Kabatsiy.
The participants, including media professionals, representatives of government agencies, artists, veterans, and volunteers, also talked about what makes them feel that same resilience, nourish that feeling, and support others. The source of vitality for most of them is their families, friends, hiking, socializing with like-minded people, sports, and acceptance of the situation and their role in it.
"We have been living in the reality of war for 10 years now, because it all started in 2014, not 2022. Victory depends only on us – we are either fighting or preparing for occupation. And our acceptance is that we are at war, each in our place. We do not ask unnecessary questions, but do our best. Because if we look for the guilty and irresponsible responsible persons, the lost time can cost us all a lot", summarized the director of the CAMZ in her comment.
The event was part of "Mental Health Awareness Month", which is held annually almost all over the world during May.
