The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support", which the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya is implementing with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the German Federal Foreign Office, continues.

This time, we managed to close the request of the Chernihiv Regional Children’s Hospital, which received a large batch of medicines and infusion solution heaters.

The medical institution is the only one in Chernihiv Oblast that provides specialized medical care for children. The capacity of the hospital is 345 beds, of which 150 are surgical beds. The hospital employs 98 doctors and provides medical care in 32 medical specialties. Up to 300 children with various diseases are treated there every day. There is also one emergency operating room, three scheduled operating rooms and a small operating room of the trauma center.

With limited funding and an increased workload on staff, additional support for the hospital is extremely important, as the main target group of the medical institution is little patients.

Currently, 20 healthcare facilities in different regions of Ukraine have already received assistance in the form of medicines, medical equipment and consumables under the project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support".
