Kherson region... The region that was under occupation, suffered from the russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, is subjected to constant enemy shelling after de-occupation, but continues its struggle and motivates everyone around it.
While the locals are returning life to their homes, we are helping people to meet their basic needs. Thus, implementing a large humanitarian project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support", the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya has started distributing food kits to civilians in the regional center and in the region.
The recipients include large families, families of internally displaced persons with children, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups. In total, about 500 families will receive assistance. Right now, our assistants on the ground – volunteers Olha Hryshnyuk and Kira Lisman and their teams – are distributing food according to the verified applications. While the first batch of aid is getting into the hands of Kherson residents, another batch is being formed in the conditions of unstable electricity supply, but with the help of flashlights from CAMZ. These are the current circumstances for the work of volunteers and the lives of the affected civilians.
As a reminder, within the project which is being implemented by the Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattya with the support of "terre des hommes Deutschland e.V." and funding from the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, families in Chernihiv and Zaporizhzhia have already received similar assistance.
Let’s keep working!
