The project "Improving the Protection of Children in Emergencies in Ukraine by Providing Safe Shelters, Food and Non-Food Items, and Psychosocial Support" started with an active phase right away. In particular, construction workers are repairing the old roof at the temporary residence of internally displaced persons in Tyachiv.

In fact, the roof is being completely replaced, as its old structure has suffered significant damage over the years and did not meet the conditions for people to live in. And more than 60 IDPs currently live in the facility.

During the first week of work, the construction team dismantled non-functional elements of the attic, removed the old slate, replaced the wooden part of the roof, and installed a modern roof over the entrance hall. Later, the renovated roof will be equipped with solar panels to ensure the shelter’s energy autonomy.
