4th day of the military invasion. The situation is acute, but controlled by military forces. The country's leadership controls the state of affairs in the country. Map of military offensives

Transcarpathian region (Zakarpatska Oblast)

The Transcarpathian region is the westernmost region of Ukraine, it has borders with 4 countries of the European Union: Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Poland. Now our region has again become a shelter for thousands of Ukrainians fleeing the zones of active hostilities. Mostly women, children and the elderly.

The approximate number of people who have arrived in the region is 60,000 thousand people.

The charity organisation Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattia was founded in 2000 by local staff of the French humanitarian organisation Medical Aid Committee.

Today the Charity Organisation "Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattia" is promptly reorienting its activities to address humanitarian issues arising from the hostile offensive of the troops of the Russian Federation on the territory of sovereign Ukraine! Together with foreign partners, friends, and like-minded people, we help citizens who have been forced to leave their homes due to Russian aggression.

On the first day of the war, we appealed for help to all the organizations and friends we know that we have worked with for the past 22 years. We coordinate our actions and assistance with the headquarters that are open at the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration and all districts of the region.

The solidarity within the country is enormous, but it has its limits. Currently, the issue of providing the necessary material support to the region is becoming acute in order to provide a decent shelter for all those in need. Most of the private sector host relatives and friends in their homes. Almost the entire real estate market that could be rented is already filled with tenants. Uzhhorod National University vacated all dormitories for refugees. Currently, all communities are starting to place people in schools and kindergartens.

There is still a catastrophic need for humanitarian aid such as:

  • Mattresses
  • Sleeping bags
  • Linens
  • Medicines
  • Household chemicals
  • Special food for children.

Depending on the deployment of the zone of aggression, there may also be disruptions in food supplies.

However  round-the-clock humanitarian headquarters have been deployed in the region. They will facilitate a special crossing of humanitarian cargo. We will be able to purchase and receive all the necessary medicines, food and materials from abroad.

At the moment, we are in a privileged position and ready to face these critical humanitarian challenges.

Sincerely,

Nataliya Kabatsiy
